Ain't Nobody Here
Only been back half an hour or so but all seems calm just now. As long as Poppy has somewhere to run to, things are fine. I'm going to keep Maisie in solitary at least till the weekend though .
Falkor
I think solitary or Sin binning as it is called in our house def has its merits. I have been sin binning Fudge, our little rowdy pekin, at night into a catbox in the shed. Touch wood, she is not a bully, but she is a noisey little begger. Waking me, the neighbours and the other chooks up a good half hour before it is even light! She has spent a 5 nights in the shed, been put back into the run from 8.30 onwards and it seems to have done her the world of good. Not only is she quieter....she is a much nicer person to be around too The Bumper Bit should be making it's way through the postal system ( ) as we speak I hope it helps ANH
Ain't Nobody Here
Thanks . I've already separated them within the WIR again as I saw Maisie having a couple of good pecks at Poppy .
Ain't Nobody Here
One step forward, one step back . Tried to encourage Poppy to go into the eglu at bedtime. Molly objected and pecked her comb so it started bleeding again . I've put Poppy and Penny in together back in the pet carrier and allowed Maisie into the eglu. Maisie will be put into the sin bin first thing tomorrow . I hope Molly doesn't have to join her .

Chucky1
ANH - I'm sorry to hear of your bit of bother - its pretty unpleasant to see the big girls duffing up the little ones. When we introduced new gals we would pick up any aggressor and give her a two minute cuddle. Maybe we were just lucky but it seems to have worked. We have two cubes one for the 6 old gals and the other for the 8 new. Every evening there is a different configuration on the sleeping arrangements. Ten and four is quite popular though tonight was 11 and 3 I have just googled alternatives to styptic powder (as its not the sort of thing we keep handy is it?!) and they suggest flour - that should stop the bleeding Maybe I'm a bit behind the times but don't they sell styptic pencils and powder in chemists in the shaving section, to stop shaving nicks and cuts? Stings like anything. Wish you all well ANH
