Cluckinmad Posted September 30, 2009 Share Posted September 30, 2009 This mite seem like a stupid question but these so called DUST baths that chickens ment to have? what is it that you have to put in the tray? is it saw dust or sand weve heard its sand but not actually to sure?weve made a sand 1 but they dont even go near it any help would be greatly appreciated? Laura & CTB Posted September 30, 2009 Share Posted September 30, 2009 It may take them a while to get used to a new dustbath. Mine have a sand filled one in their run that they use occasionally. Mostly they use the one they made themselves under the hedge which is dry soil - I add some playsand and ashes from the chimnea too to top it up - they love it.
