Nasty Hen! HELP!

Recommended Posts

For about a week now, one of the chickens (Korma) has being picking on Jalfezi.

Whenever she sees her in the garden she runs at her and really goes for her head. Poor Jalfrezi is getting a bit of a bald patch there now bless her.

Korma is normally the nicest and most easy going of all the hens so I'm not sure what's gone wrong?

We've had them since march and apart from Shaft being broody we've had no problems and all 6 girls have got on so well since the day we had them.

I'm so scared now that Korma is going to bully Jalfrezi so much that she'll end up killing her.

We've tried pulling the bully out and keeping her in isolation for a week but that doesn't seem to have done the trick.

What do I do now?! HELP?!

TIA

Yvette

I would recommend a bumpa bit. Only my opinion, but I think they provide a solution which works well, prevents the bully doing serious damage, and it can help the tables turn a bit in terms of dominance.

Their behaviour can change because of hormonal fluctuations, coming into/going off lay etc.
