How Quickly Does Albendazole Work?

Hi I wondered if anyone knew what was the matter with one of my bantams. She seems to be permanently puffed up and not as bosterious and she seems to of lost her appetite. Can anyone help as to what might be the problem.

How old is she and is she laying yet? Is her crop full by evening and empty in the morning? Has she been wormed? That's the questions over now .

Hi the chickens were bought around the 26th august and were point of lay. I have had no eggs as yet. The comb isn't very big. I haven'[t wormed them as yet. As for the crop I will check tonight and tomorrow morning. Thanks

It may possibly be a soft shelled egg on it's way At the beginning of laying they are more frequent as the hen gets into a laying pattern. A "softie" can make them appear in a daze/trance almost, hunched, not interested in food or water, standing still. The hen will be like this until the egg is passed and once out the hen will be back to normal.

If her crop is full in the morning before she has eaten, then she probably has a blockage as it should be empty.

 

Did it feel hard or soft?

 

TBH, if you don't know what you're doing (no offence intended!!!!), I'd get a vet to take a look at her if it's a crop problem as you can do more harm than good by attempting to clear it yourself.
