BiBiBi
We've had our 3 chooks for about 2 and a half weeks now and we are thinking perhaps we shudda got 4 as we have no surplus eggs for friends or family. They are laying about 12 - 14 eggs per week between them already. Good girls! Is 4 the maximum number recommended for an eglu? Will it cause a problem to bring another chicken (or 2) in now? Any advice on how to integrate new arrivals with the current trio would be much appreciated.
Egluntyne
Have a look **here** From the FAQ section. They will fit happily into the Eglu, so long as the run is extended, and if you add 2 more, you may need to rig up an additional nest box. It is always easier to add two to an established group. coco
I've got three and am thinking about getting 2 more but not till spring and we get the run made bigger. you've got very clever chucks laying that many eggs a week, I'm getting seven or eight if I'm lucky. They seem to be taking turns as to who is going to lay.

BiBiBi
Coco, I think it is all the garden worms they are eating. I've got a big garden and have been digging over the veg beds and they have been having a feast every day!! They used to love the squashy tomatoes I gave them too, but now they are turning their noses (beaks? ) up at the tomatoes - spoilt by all the worms, no doubt...
