Hi

I have a cube with a standard run which is covered with a clear tarp over the top and down the sides. I am having a problem with the rain blowing into the run from the front where the door is and soaking the auboiuse which just becomes a horrible mess.

I thought about trying another tarp across the front of the run but they all seem too large.

Also would I be better with wood chip in this situation, the cube is on a paved base and so can't be moved.

I think I have solved this problem....accidentally.

I have corrugated plastic sheets on the cube run and they are about 1ft too long so overhang the door panel so I have created a little cube run porch! :D

It seems to be stopping a lot of the rain getting into the door end and soaking the floor. It still gets a little damp at the very front bottom but FIL is talking about cutting some clear perspex about 9inches tall to attach as a skirt...if that makes sense

I have woodchip in my other cube runs without porches and it does seem to fair better than the aubiose.

PS: You just have to remember that the cube has a porch otherwise decapitation could occur

I've done something similar. I made a false sloping roof with trellis and props and it overhangs the right and end and is low on the left. I put the shower curtains over and when it is wet and windy shower curtains down the left side and a couple of bricks to hold it away from the run and water drains off the slabbed area.

When the rain and wind come from the other side (not very often) I move the extra shower curtains to that side, so they always have one side open for good ventilation. :D

Works for me, my run got wet at times beforehand because the slabs slope right to left. :D
