coco
Is it too late in the year for a hen to go broody. Coco my silkie cross is spending a lot of time sitting in the nest. She laid today and did come out for some corn. Should I just taken the egg off her and encourage her to go outside or take the egg and leave her be, I know she needs to go out to eat and drink. chichi
my Peggy has been sat on an egg for 2 weeks now. last time she went broody in the summer and we tried and tried to get her out of it, it took weeks. so this time i let her keep an egg and see what happens. I give her a shove outside once a day and make sure she eats something etc x
Jools
If you don't want her to sit, then keep taking the eggs away and turf her outside. If you can catch them before they really get into the zone, they're much easier to deter.
