Hi, my wood for the aviary panels is coming on monday and I already have some weld mesh from hills of devon so I need to get a staple gun now.

Any recommendations? I'm hoping a cheap one will do the trick? Is it worth getting electric as I am a bit of a weakling.

Do I also need tin snips? I've got a jigsaw and I'm hoping I can cut the mesh with a metal blade with that.

I used an air stapler and type 90 or 91 narrow crown staples you can get an electric version to this one http://www.machinemart.co.uk/shop/product/details/191el-electric-stapler-nailer-230v/path/19-heat-guns-staplenail-glue-guns-access

I found the type 50 weren't strong enough

as for cutting don't use a jigsaw it'll pull the mesh apart

a pair of side cuters is all you need this is the type of thing http://www.machinemart.co.uk/shop/product/details/pro112-diagonal-side-cutters/path/pliers-snips-cutters nail pinchers will do the job if that's all you've got

I used Homebases Heavy Duty Staple Gun, I do use staples every three mesh squares though as any less and Mr Foxy may be able to get a hold on the mesh

The staples canb rust through so stainless steel ones are better really, I will just check mine regularly and re-do as necessary

To cut the wire I bought Wickes wire cutters (about 6 inches long with blue handle) and they have been really useful, they cost about £5
