Hi All.

 

Sorry for being a bit thick but someone told me i should be sprinkling my lawn with something after i move my run and coop.

 

What?

 

I have seen a few poo's go mouldy! is this to stop that happening?

I think you are best composting the droppings rather than leaving them down but I did read somewhere you can add water to poo and use it as a grass fertilizer. Wish I could remember where I read it so I could try some.

 

I don't think its so much the mould on poo as turning the ground acidic which means chicken diseases can live in the soil + worm eggs and liming it counteracts this.

As my girls freerange all day and night my lawn is amazing!!! it is so thick and green the poo helps what i do is blast it with a hose to break it up.
