Ian 6
Sometime this morning our Gingernut Ranger (Stella) started limping. When she stands still she holds her leg up. She is still carrying on doing normal things though. The leg looks ok, I think the limp is from the shoulder - should I leave her to see how it goes before doing anything? Is ther anything i can do? Another egg appeared in the nestbox in the morning but I don't think it was hers as she is young, about 21 weeks and hasn't started laying. Chucky Mama
I have an intermittent limper. I put mine down to concussion from the ladder. If there are no obvious injuries maybe you could encourage her to rest by moving food closer and keeping her confined for a short while and monitor how she responds to simple rest. Egluntyne
I'd examine her carefully to make sure there are no obvious creaks, breaks or hot spots. A bit of extra calcium can often help a limper.
The Dogmother
On eof mine often does this too, a bit of rest always sorts her out but do check for any injuries first.
