tannerhill
Hi Everyone, I collected my 3 Northumberland Blues yesterday, they were a bit upset as having to go into the omlet eglu run, and as they must not have had their wings clipped were trying to fly and hitting the top of run which I felt very sad for them, They had some pellets and I gave them a fresh corn on the cob, they liked that a lot, then in late afternoon some mixed corn with some grit mixed in, this is what the breder gave us. They would not go into the eglu to roost, so my husband had to put them in through the egg collection door, today we were cleaning the roosting bars and checked the nesting box as I had put some shredded paper in, and low and behold we had a blue egg, I couldnt believe my eyes, my grandson who is 5 came and he thought it was a dragons egg ( bless him) I have named them Matilda, Martha and Myrtle. I am wondering if in fact they need to have their wings cliupped or not, any advise would be greatly appreciated. This is the first time ever I have had chickens or known anyone to have them and to be honest I could sit and watch their antics all day.
