Single chickens and snow

Recommended Posts

I have had to seperate Mini from the flock, and she is residing in the greenhouse. I have just seen that we are expecting snow tonight, and that the temperature will drop below freezing. So now I'm fretting about her :? Will she be ok on her own in the rabbit hutch with lots of wood shavings? The others will snuggle up together, but I am worried about Mini

I'd pop a blanket over it, being careful to leave some ventilation. Their temp is higher than ours, so don't worry too much.

Thats useful to know. I was/am worried about Boo as she is in eglu on her own (still)

(her run is 1m from other girls run so she can see them all day long - they free range together, most days - but I have still not managed to integrate them)

When I am at home over Christmas (so can supervise) I hope to let Boo into other girls run just before bed time in the hope that a snuggly sleep together will teach Boo she has more to gain by being friends with the other 2 than she has by being a bully.
