CharLeila
Hi, I'v only had my cube and 2 girls for a couple of weeks and thought it was great when we had our first egg the day after they arrived. The next egg came a couple of days later and both were so perfect I thought one of my neighbors was pulling my leg. Since those 2, we've had none. My girls eat well and free range pretty much all day when we are in. I'm wondering if it's something I'm not doing or not giving them or simply just the time of year? Any Help would be much appreciated. Merry Chrimbo and a Happy New Year. Paul, Sam, Charlie & Leila
sjp
try letting them out later in the morning just in case they are laying under a bush in the mean time check under any bushes and behind any big clumps of plants anywere thats dark and seclueded but it could be that they are just settling in and they'll start laying when they days start to get longer in the new year p.s it could be worse I've got 2 that are 30+ weeks old and still haven't started
CharLeila
Hi, I checked everywhere in the garden and no eggs found. don't know if its a coincidence but the past 2 days they have been in their run all day rather than free ranging and this afternoon when we got back there was an egg waiting for us. Think I'm going to keep them in the run for another few days and see what happens. Also, as I'v been educating myself from forum posts, I haven't been giving them treats or s"Ooops, word censored!"es until the late afternoon. This ensures they fill up on the organic pellets first, maybe that could be the reason too? we'll see. Paul, Sam, Charlie & Leila
Lewis
It does sometimes happen if they are laying at the farm/centre they have come from, then once moved the stress can stop them laying for a couple of weeks. Hopefully you'll get more eggs soon
CharLeila
Well, we've had an egg a day for 3 days now after doing what I said previously. Think I might let them free range again but leave the treats till later in the day and see what happens. Just a bit of trial and error I think. Great to have fresh eggs every day.
