Chook n Boo Mum

Bufflings update...Pansy has a new mum......

Recommended Posts

......and Yellow Legs will be going to a new home in the next couple of days....

Pansy has gone to keep Sadietoo's Kipper company following the sad loss of her sister (lovely to meet you today L&N :D ), as she was not showing any signs of integrating with the big girls in the WIR nor the Rockies in the (cube red) ..........all she wanted to do was follow her brother Yellow Legs around

Yellow Legs has discovered his voice & leaving us all in no doubt that he is a big growed up boy & will flex his testosterone pumped muscles as every available opportunity............since discovering "auntie" Willow in a state of shock yesterday afternoon for several minutes after he had......erm....show her some special attention  ...he was removed to his run & paced there all the time the girls freeranged around him. Poor little man is beside himself, so hopefully he'll be going to a farm tomorrow with lots of ladies to befriend......Christmas holidays make it even more difficult to rehome noisy big birds..."Ooops, word censored!"ody's around :wall:

He's a total sweety with me still & as soon as I pick him up he snuggles in for a cuddle & is silent........... put him down & he's like a caged lion, grumbling & mumbling to himself.........hormones.... aren't they a wonderful thing  Can't wait for DS's to kick in :liar:

Apart from YL being extremely "friendly" to the other chooks, I am also awaiting a visit/phonecall from our neighbour.............DS was awoken by the daughter slamming her bedroom door so hard yesterday that the house shook, and YL was "singing" at the top of his voice......it was after 8.00 & the child never sleeps in anyway....and it could have been totally unrelated, but if I remove our little noisebag as I promised I would, then harmony will prevail :anxious::pray::anxious:

Remind me next time I have a broody hen, that the broody cage is a good idea
