chooksy
Went to check the hens this morning and a new egg had been laid, its a gorgeous minty green colour! We have a Columbine that lays a deep khaki green but this one is really minty so I am assuming my Black Araucana has laid it as her first egg! Ain't Nobody Here
How lovely . (Maisie, my Columbine, laid olive green eggs which turned minty green after a while so are you sure it's the Araucana ?)
chooksy
Hmmm, not sure now! Its really different to what my Columbine normally lays, she laid one of her usuals today. Its got me and OH arguing over it as he's convinced its blue, I say turquoisy green. Our Lav Araucana lay a fairly strong blue so I'm confident its not there egg. The Black Araucana was hatched from a greenyblue egg so I'm hoping it is hers We're getting at least four eggs most days today bless'um - working hard through the snow

rufusrooster
these are the 4 im getting at the moment, you can match them up with my sig, the greeny/blue or minty egg especially doesnt show up well in the photo, im expecting more brown eggs from the Barnebar (the browner the better) not sure about the Light Sussex and Gold laced Wyandotte ? ive read cream and tinted ? can anyone enlighten me as what to expect ? Lewis
Light Sussex are meant to lay creamy eggs (I think?) but I know some modern strains can lay light brown eggs too
