Redwing
Yes we have had a problem They are fine and edible when they defrost but it does affect the quality a little so I wouldnt expect them to keep for as long
Jules.
I've collected frozen eggs which have had cracks in the shell but not in the shell membrane.
Redwing
I left a few eggs on the brick windowsill of the stable a couple of weeks ago, they froze and when I picked them up most of the shell came away leaving the egg contents perfectly frozen to the windowsill
coco
I suppose that one advantage of having a broody hen, the eggs are nice and warm.

emchook
How do you tell if an egg is frozen ? Do you have to shake it to check ?
