Puglia Italy? - Maybe Thailand Instead?

Recommended Posts

Thinking of going to Puglia in Italy this year. I am told it has fantastic food and I have seen these lovely houses

Does anyone have experience of Puglia? Failing that anywhere in Italy (other than Garda) that can be recommended - good weather & food essential.

The other option is now Thailand. Thinking of doing hotel with pool near beach then stop off in Bankok on way back. Any tips, thoughts, advise, good agents to book wih greatfully received

Bari has wonderful seafood (if you're into seafood) and the old town is very pretty. One of the churches in the old town has the body of St. Nicholas in its crypt...

If you like rugged mountain country and fewer tourists, why not try the 'Garfagnana' region of northern Tuscany? we go there every year and it is bellissimo! The people are friendly, the food is good and the scenary is to die for... 8) You only need to fly to Pisa airport...

:lol: I can read and understand it Saronne, but my conjugation and vocab are rubbish these days - we haven't spoken it since my last Italian grandparent died 25 years ago  They came from a small town called Campi Bisenzio, about 20 miles outside Florence; my great grandparents came over here early last century when one of their sons needed treatment for polio (this was the best place to get it) Nonna and Nonno lived in the same town as my parents now live in, and he was an industrial chemist, they had a smallholding which is where I get my love of animals from.

Don't worry, Claret, it took me over an hour to put that sentence together!

Haven't been to the far east for 20 years, but loved it. best idea if you want to island hop is to get the domestic flights when you're out there and book the hotels from here. Well, that used to be the case.

My uncle lives in Singapore, but I like the less ordered and more wild parts. The indonesian islands are stunning.
