daisybell
Does anyone know why one of my girls should suddenly start to lose her feathers in this cold spell. All 3 have already gone through the molt. Gladys is one of 3 Black Rocks I have. The others are fine. I have photos but I'm afraid I have no idea how to send them. Thank you. Plum
Would she be daft enough to go broody and be pulling out her feathers? The other thought is whether she has parasites and is pulling at them. Can't be moult if she has just moulted. Welcome to the forum
daisybell
Thank you for making me feel welcome. Gladys is running around with the other two today when I let them out for a wander. She's eating fine. I checked her skin & I can see no evidence of parasites,so I am thinking you may be right & she's broody. The only other thing I noticed when I cleaned them out today was that the manure had an almost sicky smell which I had never smelt before.
