KatieandFig
We had 2 black rocks and 2 silkies and sadly one of the silkies was killed by a fox yesterday Does anyone have any advice as to whether we should replace her as I am worried our remaining silkie will get depressed without her little friend!! Redwing
Sorry to hear about your Silkie Assuming you have solved your fox problem, reinforced defences etc.. you could get another Silkie but introducing just one is very tricky Your lone Silkie shouldnt pine for the other assuming she has the other two for company, if you kept the Silkies separate so the remaining one is alone then yes I would get another I dont think chickens like company specifically of their own breed if that makes sense
KatieandFig
Thanks for your replies and sympathy They are all in the same 'house' together but the silkies stuck together as did the black rocks. They did all get on though so I am hoping that she will manage without her little buddy.
