Hi I think poor Jazz has had a little prolapse, we have bathed her and used anusol and tried to push it back in but to no avail any ideas of what I should be doing.

Any advice would be appreciated

 

Plus if you need to buy Vaseline rubber gloves and Anusol from a supermarket wear a balaclava

You can push back a prolapse in a human female - not sure about chickens. Was this through laying an egg? sorry not a chuck owner yet.

You'll need to get the swelling down first. I used anusol but what worked best was dampening it and sprinkling sugar on. Then she may tolerate it. There is a lot of swelling there so it may take a few days to go down. Also antibiotic cover may be needed if it doesn't go down straight away.

 

Best to keep her in the dark and feed her wheat type food to avoid laying until things are settled.

How is she doing? Hope its all gone back.

 

My little one who prolapsed has crouched again so looks like she may lay soon so I may be in the same position again soon.
