Willow
I've just finished knitting a red scarf for 5yo nephew using Sirdar 1 hr scarf http://www.knitandsew.co.uk/Sirdar_One_Hour_Scarf.htm. It definitely took me lonmger than 1 hr but it is really nice to knit. I'd wanted to find nice soft wool suitable for boys as I'd knitted a pink scarf for his younger sister using Sirdar funky fur http://www.knitandsew.co.uk/Sirdar_Funky_Fur_wool.htm. I've knitted a few scarves and beanie hats in Sirda denim ultra and these make up nice and quick as well. My sons have had lots of friends say how nice their scarves are HAs anyone else found any nice/unusual wool for scarves (I might try something harder next time )
Snowy
Sirdar Eclipse is great for beanie hats as it is self striping but in some gorgeous shades. Would probably make good scarves as well. It comes in DK or chunky.
craftyhunnypie
Snoflake or Big softie is nice wool for both. Emma.x
rachelk
I've knitted several in that wool that looks like pom-poms on a string. Kids seem to love them! Once you've got the hang of it they knit up really quickly.
