Raina
I had locked the chickens into the eglu while i raked over the woodchip and added fresh water. Well while i was filling up the water i heard a shuffle shuffle noise (like someone flapping a carrier bag) so i turned round couldn't see a thing so carried on filling up the glug, then i turned round to go back to the eglu to find the girls scratching about on the garden, bums wobbling everywhere. Well that's OK for some people but i can't let them out because the back garden leads onto the front where they could easily get run over so i showed tehm the mash i made them and they came running over like headless chickens and ran into the eglu run I have never been so scared in all my life

henriette
Oh, that awful sinking feeling. I know it so well. Thank goodness you were quick enough to get them back in. Nothing like the food pail to entice the little darlings!
Henhathnofury
Raina, you do have a lovely way with words...I love the 'bums wobbling everywhere'...but glad that you got them back in. They stuck close to you because they know what a good 'parent' you are!
