AJuff
He doesn't need to have a confirmation name. I like the keyring idea.
Guest
A really nice Bible - leather-bound or boxed perhaps. My confirmation Bible has red letters for whatever Jesus says and a useful concordance and reference section. Congratulations to him! Lavenders_Blue
Yes I agree, a bible would be a good gift. Either a leather bound one to keep or (depending on his age) you can get bibles aimed particularly for young people such as the youth bible or the street bible. AJuff
Well he already has a very nice Youth bible which he was given as a baptism gift. He'll also receive a bible from church on his confirmation too so I ruled out that idea.
whoopsie
How about a pen? I received a lovely fountain pen on my confirmation, which although it's not religeous it's a really nice reminder. You could have it engraved for him. Unusual not to have a name I think. Maybe that's a Catholic thing.
AJuff
Now that is a lovely idea. A special pen that commemorates the event but is useful.
ladyjulian
I got a beautiful illustrated prayer book for my confirmation. It has medieval style illustrations and illuminated letters. It's too pretty to actually use on a regular basis but it's a lovely thing to have.
AJuff
Might have to look at the Iona community stuff . . .

C&T
I had a lovely Christian Poetry book for my confirmation. A real mix of poets in there as well, but all "accessible" stuff, and not like a school exercise book!! I also got my own copy of the service book our church uses. I know many churches now rely on over head projection screens etc now, so maybe that is not as valid as it used to be... I also received a lovely necklace - but guessing not so good for a boy, but how about a nice watch? Or any other piece of male jewellary if he is into it?
