SmellyKelly
Please help me fellow chicken parents... Monica my Miss Pepperpot (and normally the one who bosses the other 2 around) has been broody now for 2 months!! The difficulty is that during the week I leave early in the morning and dont get back till mid evening, so I cant lock them all out as the other 2 are still laying like troopers! What to do??! Thanks in advance, Im a relatively new Mother Hen xx

Doodledootoo
My Pepperpot did this - it went on for ever. Tried a broody cage (dog cage) for a couple of weeks but still it went on. Tried locking her out of the Cube for a week and still it went on. She was absolutely fixed on it. In the end, I put a cat carrier in the run. Stuck some straw in it and put her in there with the cat carrier door open and just let her get on with it. It was less hassle! I did turf her out twice a day to make sure she ate and drank. shoura
I've got one of those.... Lost track of how long she's been broody! I just turf her out twice a day to get food and water and let her get on with it----but I've been expecting her to snap out of it eventually!! Can it go on for ever???? coco
I've got one too. Pipa has been broody since well before Christmas, maybe even the end of November. I turf her out twice a day so that she eats and drinks. She can spend all day FR at the weekend then suddenly remembers she is supposed to be sitting on her nest. SmellyKelly
Thank you so much everyone, I think a broody cage might be in order! In between the little minx has decided to shed all of her neck feathers - such an attention seeker!! I will keep you posted and let you know if she ever starts laying again! coco
Pipa suddenly snapped out of it about a week and an half ago, hopefully she will start laying again soon.
