troyca
Well they are here, all three in their "GO" in a" Tony"{pictures to follow]. I had hoped to get rid of my unwanted vegetable waste that wasn't being composted by way of treats. Well so far they don't seem to like anything other than layers pellets-probably a good thing? How long do you keep things available before giving up on a "treat". I am taking pellets out each evening on the basis of not wanting furry visitors. Gelbel
Apart from sweetcorn, spaghetti, bean sprouts, meal worms and corn my girls ignore all other treats until the next day. But if it's a new treat and it's ignored I don't try it again after that next day - not wasting my time with them (they have me wrapped around their little claws enough). And with that - I need to put them to bed.
moochoo
I'm guessing your girls are just point of lay, so not laying yet. Once they start laying their appitite will seriously increase. My girls took a while to recognise anything apart from pellets as food but boy did they soon learn! Keep trying with the treats and keep removing food at night. You're doing all the right things. sjp
I found that my hybrids weren't very keen on new foods at first (they only knew about poulty mash)but that really changed when I got my pure breed youngsters they showed they big girls that if it's green or hanging from somthing green then its food that was only after they stripped the blueberries through
Hen Watch
Sticking to pellets is no bad thing at the mo. I found my lot changed their likes and dislikes as they got older from one year to the next. As babies they never touched raw carrot and would only eat it cooked. Then suddenly after 1 year they started devouring raw carrot peelings. Ditto sprouts.......
