badgerbluebadger
I was at work and my husband was working from home so he decided to let the girls freerange. Good job he kept an eye out as a fox caught Sam. My husband rushed out and stopped the fox taking her and she now has two cuts on her side and her back with lots of feathers missing. The cuts didn't look to bad today so my husband left her with Dipper and she seemed fine and has been eating. I came home from work and checked on her and the cuts are rather big but not deep. I have put her in a cat box tonight in our spare room and will take her to the vets tomorrow for a jab as foxes carry nasty bugs. Is there anything else I can do? sadietoo
No advice, I am afraid, sounds like you're doing all you can for now. Just wanted to say how sorry I am to hear of the attack on your girl, and I hope that she makes a full recovery. xx
madchickenlady
It sounds like you are doing everything you can by keeping her warm and quiet. Stress and shock will be the biggest risks. Hope the vet gives her a clean bill of health
Seagazer
Oh I'm so sorry to hear that. I'm not too far from you and there seem to be so many around at the moment. I hope she gets on ok at the vets.
batcatz
Hi, sorry to hear about the fox attack. I hope Sam is ok. How did he get on at the vets?
badgerbluebadger
Sam is ok and the vets looked and cleaned up the cuts. She laid an egg this morning as she is a trooper! She and Dipper are separated at the moment with some chicken wire so Dipper doesn't peck at her cuts and hopefully in the next week she will heal.
