Pro - Does anyone else's nest boxes get soaked in rain?

speckledies local to me guys? My SIL has lost twp of her 4 girls (one did a runner),and they want to replace them with speckledies. As I am looking after her girls on Friday I said that I would take them o buy them,but I have no idea where from? Anyone know of a good local breeder?

I got our Speckledy from Happy Chicks in Preesall, I think Garden Poultry in Frodsham also do them, though their business is up for sale so don't know if they are still trading ...you'll probably want somewhere nearer, though Happy Chicks do deliver apparently.

I have just spoken to Craeg Mhor and he has some in,so will nip there on Friday - I have had birds off him before -my Maud and Aggie,both are in great nick and lay really well. I am just hoping that I won't be tempted to get more when I see them!

OMG she will never make it out of there without a box full of chooks. Better start building another coop my girl. Make sure you are outside the kitchen door. xx

Believe me shirl - I have loads of room in my coops-all nine decided ages ago that they were all sleeping in the smallest one! So I still have the big one to fill.....

My OH said that I can't get anymore

But,I'm not sure he'd notice a couple more girlies if I just sneaked them in while he isn't looking.

Of course he wouldn't. Stands to reason that the coop should not be left idle. xx After all that trouble it took to build it, and it's so beautiful. I think I had better stop there, I could go on of course.

well,I went with every intention of not buying any girls - I even let my nieces use my cat carrier so I wouldn't have any way of bringing amy home. Unfortunately Craeg had spare boxes,and look what jumped into them!!!

Aren't they gorgeous?? I have hinted to my OH that I have a surprise for him when he gets home.lol

His reply was NOOOOOOOOO MORE CHICKENS!!

i went to craeg mhor this afternoon aswell!got 1 bluebelle and 1 black rock

they seem nice little birds, bit timid at the mo now

I hope my edith takes to them!i have split my run into 2 with bamboo to avoid fighting!

I have a wir,with two coops-one has it's own built in run,so thats where the new girls are.The big girls haven't even noticed that they are there !

They are beauuuuuuuuuuuuutiful. I would not have been able to resist either. OH will just love them I'm sure. Off to give mine their evening meal. xx

Well my OH thinks they are gorgeous!! I told him I'd bought them for him as a late valentines pressie

Our Hilda spotted them this morning-not reet chuffed!!! She was pecking at the bars on the coop that much that she actually got her beak stuck in them! The bluebells took absolutely no notice of her at all.

Still yet to decide on names for them though- they are so pretty!!
