Chicktastic
Hi, I have a Fire Angel one!! It has a really loud alarm which you test like a smoke alarm. I have not had any problems with carbon monoxide so I can't comment on how good it is, but all in all I am pleased with it. I got it from my local Tesco when they were on offer!! Hope this helps!! Charlottechicken
I have a Kidde Nighthawk, which plugs into the electric. Have had it for years and it works fine. It does have a life expectancy but has not yet informed me of its demise, which it is supposed to do Chicktastic, I have a fire angel smoke detector, does the carbon monoxide one plug into a light fitting too? PurpleTree
We used to have one, I think it was Fire Angel, we bought it from Tesco. It was fine for a year or two then seemed to have a bit of a nervous breakdown, it was showing levels of carbon monoxide when there wasn't any - had the boiler serviced at the same time and the gas man tested it all. It even showed high levels when we put it on the bench outside. We did read after that they can be affected by wet paint and dirty nappies - we were putting dirty nappies by the back door ready to go to the bin outside, we also redecorated the kitchen where the detector was. We should really get another one, but they all seem very expensive
Slim
There is a big push on these at the moment B&Q have them cheap if you are OAP you can get them free from Age Concern.
Olly
I had one fitted last time I had the boiler serviced, as it's quite an old boiler and also the woodburner is in the same room, I think it was about £20 from British Gas. Can't tell you the make, sorry.
