grracee
Well, i had the shed put up yesterday & put the perches etc in today and tonight the girls have gone in their new home for the first night! They didn't think much of it at first but i went up their not so long ago and they were all cuddling up together, suppose it will take them a while to get used to it but i'm just glad i have got it done, finally!! Is it ok to have an overlap shed, as i read somewhere else someone said a fox got into an overlap shed and had the hens... so im abit worried now....?? Porkypie
Lucky chickens Pictures.....? Not sure about the overlap shed issue. If there is a problem, the same concern may apply to my wooden hen house I'm going out to take a look at it
miller30
Hi my chickens were in an overlap shed and we didnt have any problems with foxes but we did with redmite they use to nest in the little gaps in the end i gave up and burnt the shed down dont panic though just make sure when you clean them out your cleaning solution you use goes right into all the little gaps i drench mine with a pump action sprayer it hasnt put me of using an overlap shed but in the summer i drench my houses every 3 weeks with poultry shield and i get my torch out at night just to check for the little "Ooops, word censored!"s hope this helps leanne. grracee
That's what mine looks like but i'm sure what you have is fine, my mind is at rest now about my shed, i was just a little worried about them on their first night. And as someone else has said overlap sheds are fine
Redwing
overlap is where the horizontal boards overlap each other by about a third, its sometimes called feather edge or featherboard too Shiplap is tounge and groove and gives less hiding places for red mite but is more expensive
