Runner ducks ever broody?

Recommended Posts

They do, but they aren't the best broodies - can sometimes abandon eggs.

I think the same goes as with the chicks Chris, best to leave it a while (a year old) before hatching the eggs so the ducklings are of better quality and less chance of getting more drakes

May be a few answers here :)

Got a 2 year old runner of mine sitting on 2 golf balls at the moment :D ,taken them off her but she still tries to lay and sit in the same spot, yes runners do get broody and feisty as well if you go near her golf balls :D :D . This duck, Pearl, has even attacked dog and cat for going near her 'eggs'.
