lyndyloo Posted March 10, 2010 Share Posted March 10, 2010 i am hoping there is someone to help me solve this . i am very new to chickens having had the three i have for just 4 weeks, they are 24 week old warrens all eating and drinking fine however over the last couple of days 2 of them have lost alot of feathers around their necks any idea what would be causing this ? surely they are two young for a moult, any advise would be more than welcome Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

chickencam Posted March 11, 2010 Share Posted March 11, 2010 My Isa Brown has bald patches on her neck at the moment, she is still laying and has no sign of anything crawly. They do lose odd patches of feathers in their first year, because it is a long time from getting their first feathers until their first full moult, usually in the autumn of their second year.
