I have given the honey pet bird ones though and they liked those I have too, mine get them as an occasional treat (maybe once a fortnight) and I hang it up in their run. Rosey Supposey Posted March 10, 2010 Share Posted March 10, 2010 Mine love them, but only when the Starlings have eaten them right down to the core -when there's only an inch or so left. I used to leave whole fat balls out as very occasional treats but the hens found them too solid to peck into and gave up on them. That last inch is all roughed up and crumbly, so they thoroughly enjoy rolling it around for an hour or so. Once they're bored with it I take it away until the next one is ready!
