Luvachicken
I went to the garden centre the other day and brought home the "side salad" ( 1 bit of tomato, a bit of cucumber and loads of cress ) for the girls - they loved the cress so i went out and bought them some seeds so they could have their own and then i got to thinking if one of those seed sprouting tower things would be any good. There are all sorts you can grow for us to eat and i wondered if the chickens could eat the seedlings instead - there was even some sort of broccoli you could munch on. Does anyone have one of these and is it any good or would i be better cutting out the bottom of the flora cotainer which is what i have done for the cress ? Happy spring by the way . I haven't been on here for ages due to too much stress in life and work - never mind no more work as from 1st April, but then no more wages either
Egluntyne
They love them and they are bursting with vitamins so are good for them too.
Saronne
I sprout loads for us to eat - but sometimes I have an overabundance of sprouts and end up sharing them with my hens. They particularly like the sprouted alfalfa. Saronne x
