Mixing Flubenvet

Recommended Posts

I've just mixed 6g Flubenvet into 2kg of pellets, mixing in a bucket, thoroughly per the instructions. I actually sprayed the pellets with a bit of olive oil to help the powder adhere to them. But when I filled the feeder I found a lot of powdery stuff at the bottom of the bucket---not sure if that is Flubenvet or just powder from the pellets. :x

 I am going to re-mix it all and will use a bit more oil---am I in danger of making the pellets soggy? :?: Any other tips for making this work?

Also, for the next week they won't be getting any treats or doing any FR, but should I continue to give them their greens?

Thanks!

I mix mine in a bag like the way you'd flour a piece of fish I start with a bread bag for the first kilo then move on to a pedal bin bag you have to make sure there are no holes in through put a small amout of pellets in then the flube shake add CLO shake the add pelletts as for greens I'm not to sure as i still let mine out for a stort FR but they don't get treats which makes me really popular not

I cheat and use cherry tomatos.

Chooks lurve toms and is easier to make a small incission in them, put a tiny pinch of Flubenvet inside and feed them one each.Repeat 6 more times over next 6 days and its all done. This way you're guaranteed they're each getting their dose :D

The downside of Stevies approach is they get it all in one fell swoop every day (although when I only had 4 I used this approach with grapes  )

Now I mix the amount into a small amount of pellets with some cod liver oil to make it stick, and then add the treated pellets a bit at a time to untreated pellets and mix up.

This ensures they get the medication gradually throughout the day :)
