My Hatchling :)

Recommended Posts

I didn't go to bed until really late last night (2am, preparing a billion Easter bunny gifts for preschool fayre!) Egg had been cheeping and tapping, but no sign at all of pipping - this morning at 6.30am it was fully hatched!!!

There are a few pics here:

I have taken it out of incy now as it was dry and was slipping about in the egg tray and try to stand, now it is under the electric hen. Cheeping quite a bit, feel guilty I can't get it a pal until tomorrow, but it looks ok. Tried putting its beak in water but it wasn't too happy about that and just got in the water - it did a big poo on my hand which I guess is a good sign :D I don't think I could ever get bored of hatching-it is just amazing to look at the egg shell and think just 24hrs ago that whle chick fitted with space to spare!

hehe. just another 11 to go in 13 days :D But I am meant to be emailing a guy from ebay about Australorpe eggs, but I am resisting...would rather have both incys free next time I set so I guess I had better wait. I don't want to end up with a lone chick again. Should prob sell the rcom I guess....
