Hi,

right I started with the cube, run and 3 extensions, changed to a 5ft wide 15ft long WIR but although marketed as a chicken run its really a dog kennel and I am not happy with it, and 5ft wide isnt enough to squueze my belly round the side of the cube to clean with ease

so ordered a 9ft wide, 9ft long, 6ft high wooden WIR and going to put a roof on, I am cutting a hole to have the cube on the outside (easy egg collection and easy cleaning :clap::clap::clap: ) so no space will be taken away from the WIR by the cube, I am going to add pearchs and a ledge for the girls for some fun and games.

I am also going to add a board round the outside and go for adoise rather then chips.

Anyway my question is, I have 5 girls, and was planning on 3 batts there rescue has been put off for a few weeks longer which is good cos it gives me more time to do this, I am going to put them in a small run next to the new one, and hopefully in time add them in the main WIR.

Is my new 9ft X9ft run (with cube on the outside) going to be big enough?

thanks

Sharon

I think it's a bit of a squeeze but will depend on size of girls and the amount of mezzanines.

I have a 6ft x 12 ft with cube on ouside with 5 girls in, soon will be adding mezzanines and 2 more girls, but in August am extending it to 6ft x 18ft to give them more space when they dont FR as much ie winter months etc..
