Unsecure chicken perches

Does anyone know why one of my chooks (I'm assuming it's the same one) sometimes lays eggs with wavy, crinkly shells The wavy ones are usually quite large eggs. The chickens are all fine, just wondering what causes this?

I've heard stress, my old chickens used to do it.. I'm not so certain but maybe she was having a little trouble with her egg laying.

But as long as you have happy, healthy chickens, they will be fine.

There was an article on this in a Practical Poultry magazine last year. It said:-

 

"Wrinkled shells are probably laid by a hen in over-fat condition, the shell taking the shape of the oviduct which is encased in fat."

Oh that is funny Maybe I'll enrol her The chook that I think is laying them is actually the smallest one who never seems to get any bigger! Maybe it's not her then
