No eggs - worms?

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

My 10 month old Miss Pepperpot has stopped laying. We normally have 6 eggs a week from her but I’ve had nothing since Sunday. She seems fine in herself, no sign of lice or mites but she did just do a watery dropping which the fluid turned a milky colour when exposed to the air.

She was last wormed with flubenvet in November. I'm planning on worming them starting tomorrow, but do you think this could be anything more sinister?

I would try the Flubenvet first. It works fast so you'll know if it worked by the end of a weeks course. It doesn't sound to me like anything to sinister if she looks happy and well. They seem to do occasional strange random poos  I'd check her poo after the flubenvet treatment - hopefully she'll be ok then :D:D

Thanks both; just to show me up she’s laid a lovely looking egg this afternoon, although her poo still don’t look quite right. One of the others produced something similar so i photographed it (much to the neighbour’s amusement) – is this within the range of ‘normal’?

I’ve started then all on the Flubenvet so hopefully that’ll improve matters.

Mine have done this poo before, I call it the 'weetabix explosion poo':lol:

Normally there's only 1 or 2 of these then all is back to normal. I think it can happen if they have been drinking a lot or eating too many lettuce type treats.

Worming is probably a good idea and just keep an eye on them in case this keeps happening.
