Tiffany's odd behaviour

Recommended Posts

My ISA brown Tiffany hasnt laid an egg since last September but she has been doing a weird thing. I've noticed that for the past couple of weeks she's been going into the nest box every day for an hour or so.

Today when she strolled back out I went to have a nose round and found she has been sitting on Stella's egg - it was all warm!!

Now given that she is not broody, I'm wondering if she is just missing sitting on the nest box and wants to remember times past or is she trying to pass Stella's (white) eggs off as her own??

What do you think?

Barbara my ex batt is laying less and less, but she will still go for a time out in the nesting box every day. At first I worried that she may be egg bound, but she's not.

However, her latest habit of going in there and pooing on her sisters eggs I am not liking one bit :shameonu:

I am needing to wipe down the eggs every day she doesn't lay, however on the day she lays, the eggs are perfectly clean

It's like she needs to go in there and empty her vent whether its an egg or not :notalk:

Hmmm - I've heard of venting your fury :lol:

Yes very good Laura

Although, I don't know how I could have angered her, she lives a very pampered life, and as an ex batt that girl has know hardship, you'd think she'd be pleased at her endless supply of mealworms, daily freeranging and a Mum who loves her

But she is! She's determined to leave you a thank you present every day but as hard as she tries, she can't promise if it'll be breige and hard or brown and soft - or worse, mustard and runny :vom::lol:!!!
