quickcluck
She hasn't even laid yet? Maisie My Cuckoo Maran appears to be doing the broody thing! I am not 100% sure she has laid an egg yet, although I wonder if one of the tiny eggs we've had could be her practicing.... I keep chucking her out of the nest box with much hissing and spitting! Last time I encountered a broody and dunked her, but it's too cold for that. I cant really do a broody cage until the weekend. I could close the cube, but I think 13 queuing for an eglu is a reciepe for disaster especially if she takes residence there! Any advice? The Dogmother
She's unlikely to go broody if she isn't laying yet, bjut she might well be on the way to laying her first egg - it often means frequent trips to the nest box to 'practice'. quickcluck
Wellllllllllllllllll she's been in there for 6hours!!!! I have chucked her out and closed the door to the cube. She is now very disgruntled and fluffed up on her favorite perch. Neck feathers splayed in disgust!!!!
