Raina Posted March 31, 2010 Share Posted March 31, 2010 Hi all, Lady Lay is acting odd She keeps stretching her head and opening her mouth and turning her neck/head side ways (Like when you make a funny noise to a dog) She's also quite hunched up and hasn't laid for a couple of days but keeps going in the nest box. I gave the chickens LOADS of (about 10) worms the other day and some cooked potato peelings. Could this have something to do with her crop or could she be egg bound? or could it be something completely different? They have a tub full of grit and Orakiah is fine! Raina Posted March 31, 2010 Author Share Posted March 31, 2010 Bit of an update: I had gone outside to check on Lady Lay and she wasn't in her run,So i opened up the egg port thinking she might have died but she was in the nest box laying an egg (making her i'm laying an egg clucking noise) so i waited for over an hour and she finally came out and there in the nest box was a bantam sized egg and it is longish. She seems back to her normal self demanding food every time i go out to check on them. I haven't seen her do that thing with her neck & Mouth since too!
