Sad day

Recommended Posts

So sorry this happened so soon after getting your chooks! I do feel I need to warn you though - is Scarlett a free range chicken? We learned the hard way that the fox remembers and comes back once hes had a bite - our chicken Tallulah was killed and a week later the fox returned and killed 2 of our other chickens. Since then we couldnt handle the heartbreak of fox attacks so we built a fully enclosed run, and the fox hasn't returned.

Free ranging is a good thing to do, but the fox will most definitely be back! And if mine are let out of the run into the garden, I dont even watch them from the kitchen anymore, I sit outside with them. And definitely get Scarlett some friends, i'm sure shes very lonely right now!

Hope to hear more happy updates on Scarletts progress xx
