Went out at about 10.00am this morning to see large rat in run bold as brass eating the pellets,question ;I already bring in food and water every night,how much can i restrict during the day,i.e.can i feed for hour in the morning and hour at night ?Very reluctant to leave anything out to tempt the rat

I'd put some rat bait out for the rat in a bait box now it's found a good food source it'll keep coming back

The run is surrounded by bait boxes as we are somewhat paranoid and living in an areas where we back onto fields you do always have to have your wits about you but I didn't expect them to be there at 10 in the morning,makes it very difficult to feed the girls

is the bait being taken? if not you might need to change to a differant brand. a grain type if possible. I use roban at the allottment which seems to be working

My chicken keeping neighbour and myself both have this problem. Wild birds are fed throughout the village so food is easy to come by. Thinking about poison. Neighbour has had some sucess but I think living in the country you are unlikely to solve the problem. Husband is suggesting a bit of air gun practice. Pity they are such vermin as very intelligent and I think interesting creatures.

Apparently a good terrier is the answer. Our Deerhound just can't be bothered!
