LuckyChickenLover-
My two week old chicks have diarrhoea (I think that's how you spell it ).I don't know how they could have caught it as I have been giving them relatively dry food. The wettest things they have eaten are EMP mash, raisins, and possibly a bit of grass. Can anyone think how this could have happened? It is possible that they could be allergic to something, but this is unlikely as it's both of my chooks who have been affected. And does anyone know how I can make them better? Thanks Thanks ~ Lucky Chicken Lover Edited April 13, 2010 by Guest
JustMyCluck
I think they should only be eating chick crumb at that age, and grass too if they're on it so that might be the cause.
LuckyChickenLover-
80% of the food I give them is chick crumb. I only gave them raisins once and the mash is designed for young chicks so I don't think that's it. Thanks anyway
Egluntyne
I would keep them on chick crumbs and fresh water only for a few days. Watch that they don't become dehydrated.

TAJ
I also see in another post they have been getting mealworms as well! Mine get chick crumb & water only until 6-7 weeks old. At that point (when they start moving on to growers pellets) I introduce a few small treats - make sure they have chick grit available if eating anything more than chick crumb.
