I am quite even asking this, but does anyone know how likely it is that the ash cloud from the Icelandic eruption will fall over us? And whether that will be dangerous for our birds? I know I'm probably being completely ridiculous, but I am a little concerned

Well it erupted last month and we didnt have it then so no

I think you mean this cloud which is drifting over us now ? I haven't heard of any impacts on wildlife health so I doubt it. I think it's very high up in the air stream where only planes etc go.

True, but I don't think they then closed the airports? Or did they? I probably shouldn't watch Sky News, where they are practically hoping for tons of ash to be dumped all over us

I'm only a few miles from Edinburgh Airport which has closed completely. I looked up this morning expecting to see clouds of ash but no, nothing . As Patricia says, it's so high up that it's not affecting us down here . (Although you do wonder if it has to land eventually, where it will go .)
