ive had it about a week now and when i hold it to the light there is a dark spot does this mean its fertile ?

prob a silly question i just got no idea but there is a first time for everything

I'm no expert, having never hatched an egg, but some detail might help you get some answers. What sort of egg is it, how old is it, how are you hatching it?

It sounds like it probably is fertile then, infertile eggs are usually very golden and clear when you candle them

i have no idea what sort of egg it is all i know is that it was given to me by my mother in law and she got given it from a private marina owner whos ducks laid it so i cant tell you what type i know its about 1week old and im hatching in a controled incubator
