angel 0406 Posted April 25, 2010 Share Posted April 25, 2010 (edited) my rocky had an operation to clear her crop the begining of the month and hasnt really recovered good has eaten very little and just been standing about the garden, she then started to pick up we went on hols last week and i worried the whole time about her came home friday where she was happy to see me but not herself again shes been out with the girls but put herself to bed early last night . ive been in this morning and she is really bad couldnt stand falling about very frail and she has liquid pouring out of her break her comb looks like she is dehidrated, i have movered her of the top of the nest boxes where they all perch for the night in case she falls off and cwtched her up in a blanket. what more can i do i feel helpless till i can get to the vets tomorrow i just feel like she dying and i need someone to see her quick thanks for any support a very upset chicken mummy xx amie Edited April 25, 2010 by Guest Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Plum Posted April 25, 2010 Share Posted April 25, 2010 I'm so sorry to hear it. I think I would do the same as you. Do you think it is blocked crop again in which case you could try the methods for trying to clear it until you get to the vet, like massage the crop and give her some drops of oil. I guess there is probably not much point in giving her fluids if she is leaking them from her beak so you are probably best just keeping her quiet. I expect someone with experience will come along. Maybe they will be able to talk to you and give you some advise over the phone Otherwise hopefully someone on here with experience will be able to help. I really hope she is ok. angel 0406 Posted April 25, 2010 Author Share Posted April 25, 2010 my poor rocky has gone i think she waited till i came home from hols to say her goodbyes to me this is my first chicken to die and she was my favoraite im so glad i took some pictures and a video on my phone of her yesturday when i got home from hols when she was looking ok but went down hill fast over night ,ive never cried so much but feel better its over for her.
