chickenopolis
Our girls will happily demolish dried mealworms (not fresh thank you....to much for me), worms that they have dug up (or rather we have helped them with), grapes, sweetcorn, cabbage, tomatoes, and sometimes THEIR own food (as long as it's the Omlet Organic Complete Food - I'm not eating pellets thank you..). They don't like maize, wheat, Feathers and Beaky Chicken Treat, or bread. They DO love, cream, jam and sponge.... we don't have chickens we have little old ladies - along the lines of Hinge and Brackett (all they need is a small sherry and a handbag) living at the bottom of our garden..... The above was a pudding I had last night, I don't usually feed them this type of thing, but you should have seen their eyes light up when they were offered a little bit of cream/jam/sponge on the end of my spoon... Mind you, if a starling leaves a lump of stray fatball laying around, they run round like they have just won the World Cup! If they were wearing a jumper they would pull it over their heads in celebration. And don't get me started on the purring and chatting they do to themselves whilst they are free ranging.... Yep, we have little old ladies.... Edited April 25, 2010 by Guest
