ejaym39
Evening, Just wanted some advice please. One of our ladies is looking a little sad tonight. She appeared fine this morning but has got quiet throughout the day. She has a floppy, pale comb, which is normally red, and has started just sitting quietly. She is eating and drinking, bottom looks fine, feathers fine, pooing as far as I know. No sign of mights, She hasn't laid today. No sounds of distress and no odd walking or injuries. Tale feather upright and normal. Any ideas. She is certainly off colour. Could it be she needs worming? Or could she just be having a bad day. many thanks EM
Plum
To be honest with mites you don't see them on the bird but in the house. A pale comb can be a sign of infestation causing anaemia. The floppy comb may be the breed or dehydration. As long as she is still eating and drinking I would start with worming with flubenvet and treat them and house for redmite and see if she picks up. Have you checked her nostrils for discharge and listened to her breathing? Softee on way?
Egluntyne
I think I'd worm her with Flubenvet.
