ejaym39
I have 7 chickens and over the past few days, our leghorn - snowy - has become quiet and flat with a floppy comb which appears to have blisters of sorts on it and one of her eyes is occasionally stuck closed. One minute she is asleep in the middle of the grass but she can still run for a grape when needed, although she is just not herself. I have seen her eating and pecking grass and she appears to be drinking. She's not laying every day but she did lay an egg yesterday. Now are you as confused as me. I have ordered Flubenvent and it came today - more questions on that one later. I have added poultry drink to their water as a pick me up and I powdered them all yesterday with mite powder although I have inspected them all and no signs of mites. I have cleaned all the bedding areas out. Cleaned all the water pots. I have checked her bottom, all normal looking and no hard lumps where crop is. Am I doing everything I can or have I missed something. Any suggestions???? I have just seperated her from the oter ladies as worried they would peck her sore looking comb and add to the problems. Thanks in anticipation Em P.S. How do i give the wormer - flubenvent?? I have read the instructions but had a blonde moment with the dosage - shan't confess that I am a nurse. Is the dose 6g of product per day in their feed, or 6g of does over 7 days in their feed.

Cats and Chickens
Flubenvet dose Is it not 6g of product per 2kg of feed? You will need to mix up enough for 7 days. I have 3 hens and they got through 4kg of feed in the 7 day period.
